Managing Your Child’s ADHD

In this video, Diana McCue, LMSW, provides tips for parents and guardians for managing behaviors of inattention and hyperactivity in elementary-age children at home. These symptoms may lead to a diagnosis of Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADHD, but sometimes having lots of energy and trouble focusing is part of being a kid. Diana offers ideas to help kids with these symptoms through four simple behavioral management strategies.

Learning to help your child succeed with ADHD is the best gift you can give.

Currently, in the United States, approximately 9.4% of children between 2 and 17 have been diagnosed with ADHD. These children often struggle to find success in school and at home. They become easily distracted, have a hard time finishing tasks, and may be always on the go.

But the ADHD brain is also a gift! Children with ADHD are spontaneous, creative, and often enthusiastic. Helping your child harness the power of the ADHD brain is a great tool to help them find success in school and in life.

Learning practical skills can help children to capitalize on their strengths. Whether your child is in elementary, middle school, high school, or even college, we can provide tools to help them flourish.
