Intro to Mindfulness

Mindfulness is being fully present and paying attention to what is happening in the moment.

Mindfulness has many benefits. According to the Center for Mindful studies, it helps with:

  • Stress reduction

  • Reduced rumination

  • Decreased negative affect (e.g. depression, anxiety)

  • Less emotional reactivity/more effective emotion regulation

  • Increased focus

  • More cognitive flexibility

  • Improved working memory

Practicing mindfulness can be a great way to reduce anxiety and to fully enjoy the life you’re living right now. The great thing is that mindfulness can be practiced at home, in the car, or at school or work.
