OUTPATIENT THERAPIST & SCHOOL-BASED MENTAL HEALTH
As a counselor, I want to help my clients overcome all types of life struggles such as trauma, depression, grief, or anxiety. I consider counseling a powerful tool to help clients achieve healing. I firmly believe that when people learn to challenge and replace unhealthy thoughts, attitudes, and beliefs, they are better able to experience positive change in their lives.
I seek to create a safe, nurturing environment for my clients to feel fully supported in their journey. I strive to provide unique therapeutic experiences for all of my clients by incorporating different modalities such as art, mindfulness, sand tray therapy, and play therapy. I utilize a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy, reality-based therapy, and psycho-education.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern and Nationally Certified Counselor based in Georgetown, Texas. I hold a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Sam Houston State University. I am a member of the Texas Counseling Association.
My counseling experience encompasses a variety of treatment settings including community-based, non-profit, and inpatient psychiatric. I completed my masters’ counseling internship and practicum working as a counselor at a domestic violence and sexual assault non-profit agency.
I participate in weekly case consultation with other therapists to enhance my skills and gain additional insights on how to further serve my clients. Currently I work primarily in school-based mental health counseling, but I am expanding my client base to include outpatient and private practice counseling as well.
